I have never managed to grow one with more than 6 or 7 segments before the whole thing collapsed. But they are pretty cool plants.
My daughter gave me a piece from a coldy hardy version. I'm hoping it grows big - I put it in the middle of the cactus garden assuming it will not be tripped over there. Of course, I have this piece because her's fell apart.
