Rob, I am delighted to have the smaller hummingbirds (metallic green / males have a metallic-red 'wig') all year round, thanks to my Abutilons that bloom the whole year. The large hummingbirds however (2.5 t 3 times larger than the previous ones) over winter in the Juan Fernandez islands (Robinson Crusoe) and come back in spring.

This week we had a very sunny day, that allowed me to sit on my deck and watch at least for an hour the app. 10 hummingbirds that had a battle for the Abutilon flowers. They are quite feisty and loud! (But still lovely to watch!).
