even if the hummingbird is perching which is on second look.........the shot is still amazing of the bird and flower.......
I notice today that they seem to be hovering around here more and more ...........it seems the more the orange comes out the more they do too as well. I have seen them literally sit on the flower petals for a bit to relax.
We get ruby throated ones here and you see them only in the summer. I put up artificial feeders to see if I can attract them early in the spring and it works but once the flowers are out and especially the lilies they no longer use the feeders much. I have put a feeder right near the plants and that did not help to get them to use the feeder. Something to say about mother nature that does it best......
If you get a number of them they will get into quite a Arial display for territory and chase each other off.......
they are beautiful and fast.........
