Mea culpa. Hilarious!

I wouldn't worry too much about the shade in the case of Souvenir du Docteur Jamain. It grows best in a slightly shady spot. Too much sun bleaches out its blooms.

I wanted Clementina Carbonieri and Archduke Charles because mine finally died this year, but both were sold out. Too bad. Maybe I'll get them next year. Both were favorites, but I bought them from Rogue Valley Roses about 10 years ago, and they never grew much beyond the "band stage." The Reverence for Roses pictures I saw on GardenWeb show newly delivered bands that are bigger than my 10-year-old roses from Rogue Valley. There's an art to growing cuttings into viable plants, and some nurseries just haven't mastered it as well as others. I still have every Paul Barden rose I bought from The Uncommon Rose when it was in business, for example, but every single Paul Barden rose I bought from Rogue Valley died within the first two years.

I did end up buying four roses from A Reverence for Roses that I already have: Reve d'Or, Souvenir du Docteur Jamain, Meredith Bohls, and Sally Holmes. All four grow well in my garden, so I couldn't pass up the chance to buy duplicates at such low prices. After the $10 credit has been applied, those four roses will cost only $38.00, which is an amazing bargain. The 3-day priority shipping to California for the four roses was only $25.15, which is far less than I'd pay Chamblee's or Roses Unlimited, and their roses take 8 days to get here.
