One of the worst things I heard from my friend,
"I have to hang up now. [My son] wants some ice cream"
"Oh! Where you going for ice cream?"
"I have some in the freezer"
"He's 17. Can't he get his own ice cream?"
"He likes me to get it for him"
That mom is not doing his future wife any favors!!!
Two things I told my husband very early in our relationship:
"Will you iron my shirts for me?"
"I don't iron my own shirts, why would I do it for you?"
"I need new a jock, will you buy me one?"
"I'm a girl. What do I know about jock straps?"
"My mom used to buy mine all the time."
"Get a mom. I'm your wife!"
