According to OMAFRA:
"Habitat: Jimsonweed occurs in the warmer parts of southern Ontario in cultivated fields and around farmyards."

I only recall ever seeing it once here in Eastern Ontario and it was growing at the base of a newly planted tree, so could have come with the tree from a more southern area.
