Becky, you work with young children don't you? This summer has really flown by; we've been so busy with the move and selling the house in Daytona and now working in this yard ... I can't believe it's August already!! My husband goes back to teaching on his birthday, Aug. 29th ... he will be commuting to Daytona two days a week until he decides to fully retire which, depending on how the commute goes may be next year! Green Grin!

We have a few palmettos in the front yard that we want to take out. Our front yard has a big slope so we're going to have topsoil delivered to level the area and then lay sod and he says we'll get it all done before his classes start ... hah, I don't think it will happen so quickly, We've been clearing a big area at the end of our driveway too; I yanked out a huge amount of southern sword ferns and lopped some Cordyline plants that I thought we'd dig out but we've decided we may keep them. He took his chain saw to some palms and a chinese tallow tree in that same area ... so we are making headway. It will just be much more pleasant if we wait to do a lot of it in the fall. Smiling
