Dog Lover Peonies Irises Lilies Hostas Daylilies
Hi folks: I am caught between my love of peonies and now my love of iris. I have always loved iris, just always had probelms with soft rot and those nasty iris borers. I have been busy bouncing around all these forumas and threads, having a great time. New to both sites basically since June and July.

I just do not have enough computer time so I can get back here as often as most of you folks do. When I do, I will try to share more pictures. I have added some to another thread about peonies. Like some of you, I too need a new computer. That won't happen till fall, so meanwhile I have to look back thru many discs that I stored thousands of garden pictures. you folks know what I mean about pictures. Take as many as you can everyday, there is always something to shoot.

As far as peonies, they are just part of the complete package, This was my mother's favorite flower and I too have many that have been passed down for over 70 years. When they get that old,the importance of splitting them takes into effect. I have to say it is much easier for me to grow peonies. Great soil, No hard clay! Just dig a hole and plant them and keep them watered till establised. Just like a lot of other plants we have to take care of. I am not a professional, just a home gardener with a wild passion for peonies. Just seems to have to have another one when I see one I like. I think it is a sickness.

Most of the gardeners around here are so in a hurry to cut them back after they have bloomed, then complain they do not have very good success growing them.

Definately check out Hollingsworth Peonies for some great growing advice and great roots. Klehms Songsparrow sells beautiful peonies also.

Most of you garden on acreage, I only have 1 acre and need more room. Here are some spring pictures from last year. Hope to be able to add more of some of this years here.

Don't worry about those ants. They love those peonies and do not come into my house. Will try to get back when I can. hope I waas able to encourage others as much as I have been enocuraged with growing iris again.

I do not know the name of the huge red one, it was passed down to me. We all know about getting free plants. Thanks everyone
