Coyotes are now found in every county in Florida. http://myfwc.com/wildlifehabit... We have them here in Sebastian and although I haven't seen one yet, I have heard them at night.

About 12 years ago when visiting my mom before she passed (down in Davie in Broward County), she told me their subdivision had a problem with foxes killing neighborhood cats. One night my sister was leaving to go home and I was standing next to her car in mom's driveway and she said "Ooh, there's a fox!" It was actually a Coyote, walking down the next door neighbors driveway. It stopped and stared at us for a couple of minutes and then trotted across the street and disappeared behind another house. Mom told me about how awful it was late at night when you'd hear a cat screaming (being taken by a coyote) and I thought she was exaggerating... until I heard it a few times myself. Very eerie. Blinking

I think foxes are pretty but the coyotes I've seen, not so much ... they look like scraggly, raggedy long-legged dogs.
