I agree it does look like a Red Tip; we'll have to wait until we see those characteristic red leaves.

I admit I am negative on Photinias as I lived through the blight about 30 years ago when every red tip, except those pruned up like trees, died. Where I lived at the time, they were used as hedges and all of a sudden everyone had rows of dead shrubs.
