If you are new to canning, I would highly recommend the book "Putting Food By" ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0053YNF46/ ) or something like the Ball Blue Book ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005SK6Y1Q/ ). Recommendations for canning safety have changed greatly since our parents' and grandparents' time... as have the tomatoes (and other veggies) that we are growing and processing.
