@hampartsum Thanks Arturo - some how missed you comments

I can now give the final status on my 2016 seedlings - I have only kept 20 seedlings, 12 of which are definite keepers and now reside in my trial beds. I am undecided about 2 because they had very untidy blooms but the plants are very healthy. Then there are 6 seedlings which haven't bloomed yet. Those 8 are still potted - the rest all landed on the compost!

Here a pic of the last seedling to bloom - a relatively small plant in relation to the size of the bloom but I like the colour and the form. And it is fragrant! I needed the yellow canister in the background because without it I couldn't get the right exposure to show the true colour.

Up until this year I have had to plant my 'keepers' in the garden but our farmer neighbour has agreed to let me use a strip of his land for trial beds. Still, I am going to have to start being even more selective about which seedlings I keep because inevitably, space will become a problem Sad To date 45 own roses and one bed with 24 Iris + a whole lot of pots Big Grin
