My parents grew an avocado tree from a pit. Of course, it never bore fruit. When it was about 30 feet tall, they had to pay someone to cut it down. LOL! Avocado's weren't a favorite of mine (except guacamole - always liked that) until a couple of years ago, and they used to get a bad rap, due to calories. Now, I eat some almost daily... yummy, plus all those omega 3's!
