If for bird food you might want to leave the center hole or only screen over it for drainage purposes. You could also make a tin roof for it. When it rains, and water stays on the food (even if for a short time) it is a smell you will remember and hard to clean out! They are a beautiful and fantastic buy! Many blessings towards your creative endeavors!

One to take to heart....1 John 4 ..............................................Where there is smoke...there is fire...in most cases the smoke will kill you long before the fire consumes you.
