Well said, Daisy, and everyone else! I was going to post asking if a 7-yr. old would know what Antosha Scenario meant, too, because I have no clue. Shrug!

I'll just pile on with my reinforcement - that if parents do their kids assignments for them, the kids never learn! Then the kids go to high school or off to college and the parents wonder why they flunk out. It's about kids learning to think, make decisions and do things themselves. That's life learning and it needs to take place at school as well as home.

I teach gardening as a volunteer at our local elementary school. We teach by asking the kids questions, not by giving them answers. This engages them and makes them think.
