I am a newbie with daylilies. Can someone tell me, please, how the height of a scape is measured? Is it from the ground to the top of the tallest bloom, or from the base of the plant to the first bud, or...?
I prefer shorter daylily varieties, but have been surprised more than once with much taller blooms than I wanted. For example, "Chorus Line" was advertised as about 19". My blooms exceeded 30" tall. "Fooled Me" was advertised to be 24". It fooled me with scapes/blooms topping 30".
Thanks.
Kat
