Lovely photos Christine! They certainly are pretty enough to show now even IF we had seen them back in 2012.


The monarch cats tonight. They're growing like weeds and all are doing well. I swear they are a different crew than the ones I originally gathered. They are extremely active these days! Little maniacs crawling around @ 90mph!

I don't like picking them up but not because I think it's creepy. They are soft & mushy, not real taut like tomato hornworms I have picked up before. I am afraid I will squish them. Their feet are hard to pull of of me when they're on me as if they have suction cups on. I go to put them back in the container & it's like trying to get a piece of tape off your finger; you get it off one finger only to have it stick to the finger you've pulled it off with.

Last night one escaped & I didn't know it till this morning when the hubs says there's a centipede on the inside of the front door. He didn't have his glasses on. I looked & darn if it wasn't an escapee! I had taken the lid off to feed them & some were on the top of the lid. I thought I had kept track of the ones on the lid but obviously this one had crawled off in the couple seconds it took me to drop the food in the container. I even checked my desktop & the surrounding floor to make sure one hadn't slipped away. Little sucker must have been booking it in it's travels! Bet he/she was super hungry when I put him/her back in the container this morning!
