Yesterday was "open doors" at one of my favorite nurseries, so it was all about getting grasses and perennials to accompany the new roses from last year ('Burgundy Ice' with 'Canicule') and a new bed of irises (from the original 2 'Provencal' that needed dividing).
It's been 8 years now of digging, planting and creating the beds, so I've been trying to slow down and just enjoy, but it's so tempting to keep on going. My DH is my landscaping consultant, who rides around on the mower and has both a keen eye and good taste. Lovey dubby He just asks that I stick to a budget, but so far, he's been easily convinced and looooves the roses and iris, too
