Pegi: We had many Pines on our property 36 years ago when we bought our house and it seemed like every year at least one of those tall trees was being struck by lightening, so we eventually had all of the pine trees taken out ... I sure miss those pine needles! It's wonderful mulch for flower beds and compacted, pine needles make great pathways. In North Georgia where my youngest sister lives, the garden centers sell bales of pine straw each spring ... that always made me laugh because people here rake it up, bag it and put it out at the curb on yard trash day!
