I love autumn. Season of bulb planting and the lovely sweet, fungi/mouldy, wet smells of decay that fill the air
I've ordered - again after last year's autumn bulb fiasco - some new bulbs this year too. Hope they'll arrive next week, though I shall not be planting them until atleast next month. I've heard that late planting discourages disease.
Anyway, they are:
Tulipa tarda, T. turkestanica, T. urumiensis, T. polychroma , T. humilis albo coerulea oculata and T. clusiana stellata (of which I have no picture)
The beds they'll go in. I've added more sand and gravel in hopes of getting more drainage. If proven insufficient, well then just ***** it
Besides that I've also ordered 1 Eremurus himalaicus, just to try and see if I can grow it, and some more Camassia leichtlinii alba (last years' I trashed after they got infected)
