If you've used this method successfully before then ignore me
but I'm not too keen on the peat pots (or are these the mesh ones?). I find they don't break down all that quickly, and also when the top of them sticks up above whatever they're planted in, it is said to wick moisture away from the plant roots. So when I've had to plant larger plants from a nursery that come in the big peat pots that can't be removed, I always snap off the rim so that the plant can be set with the top of the peat pot flush with or slightly below the soil surface.
Daylily roots grow out sideways as much as they grow down and I'm just wondering if the peat pot will restrict them. Like I said, if you've had success doing it this way before, just ignore me....
