Someone posted a tip on this site a while back to use pure copper pennies ... I believe they had to be before 1972 ... in your bird bath to keep it algae free. I tried it a couple of summers ago and it worked.

I don't have a bird bath any more because I ended up with more wood peckers than I wanted ... Smiling
I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.
