Hi everyone!!! Semp lover here, too, from North Dallas area. I just started collecting semps in May this year and I have lost a lot of plants this summer as well
I have my semps in a raised bed. They used to get about 4-6 hours of direct sunlight but a lot
either died from drying or rotting, so I moved them and they are now getting about 1-2 hours of early morning sun. They seem to like it. During last month's triple digit temps, I put a blanket "tent" over the semps bed and sprayed the blanket with water, kept the blanket moist all day and also misted the plants 2-3 x a day which helped cool them down.
Will be posting some pics here. Hope that we can get a lot of input from semp lovers across Texas on how to successfully grow these BEAUTIFUL babies....
