Welcome! LeAnna, I assume you're in Arizona? Do you know how cold it actually got while you were away? Retrospective weather data is usually available online. I'm wondering if the problem was more the straw and sheets that kept them too damp and allowed fungi to attack the fruits. Can you post a picture of the spots?
