Yup, lots of ways to earn and spend acorns on the site. I love going to botanical gardens and plant shows in my area because the plants are (generally) correctly labeled and they tend to have the "best" example of the plant because of the care it received. Since I live in a subtropical zone, I also get the chance to take pictures of many plants we don't have pictures of. And it's true - you get two acorns if you submit the first photo of a plant! You also get one acorn for a photo in each category. So one acorn for a picture of the bloom, one for the leaves, one for the whole plant, one for habitat, etc. There's even a category for "winter interest" so there's no excuse for you Northerners not to go out and take some pictures this winter! It can be especially helpful for deciduous trees, or even showing us how you overwinter your plants.

I also like to comment on plants. I suppose it's most helpful if it's your own experience. But other things can be useful, too. Maybe you have a neighbor that likes to push their zone and manages to grow things that normally don't grow in your area. That could be a comment! I like to buy vintage books on butterflies and plants. I have one from the 1920's that I've been using to make comments on various wildflowers. Knowledge of a plant can change (or be lost) over the course of 100 years! I always attribute the source and try to phrase it in my own way or put quotes around the parts that are too specific for me not to quote verbatim.

And I want a t-shirt, too! Thumbs up
