Time Zones!
AAAgh this is confusing! I was off by a day last year when I tried to figure it out.
The U.K. does Daylight Savings Time Oct 30. Here in the U.S. this year it is Nov 6.
By the Swap starting at "midnight" GMT I guess is meant the moment when it becomes Nov 2 at the Greenwich Observatory in England, or GMT 0 (Which is basically the same as UMT). NOT what I think of as midnight of Nov 2, which I personally think of as the moment before it becomes Nov 3. Probably I am overthinking this, but it does kinda seem like a "story problem" in 4th grade. I always had trouble overthinking those.
So when I looked at the converter just now, it says for me in Seattle GMT -7 (minus 7) hours, but some other converters and time zone maps, it gives me GMT-8, I guess this is the difference of the daylight savings time which will have occurred in England but not here?
Anyway I think my swap time is 5pm local time on Nov 1. But maybe it is 4pm?
Probably I need to log into the converter on Nov 1 in the morning, after the U.K. Daylight Saving Time change but before my swap time, and confirm it.
Hey- I just had a thought- RickCorey you are a smart guy and you live 5 miles from me (how convenient), when do we start swapping?
