First, the yellow appears really intense. IMO it makes a daylily bloom pop when the heart glows. It's a feature that plays nice with the bright sun here. The other thing is that it looks like it was splashed on like paint, complete with runs and drips. That may be just how I see the photos, but it looks really interesting.
