I agree with Cynthia... you do not need to pardon yourself for any weeds... If you saw my garden beds, you would think mine was a weed sanctuary, too. This year it has been thistle, in particular; but I also get unwanted grass and this strange plant that looks almost succulent-like and is apparently edible, according to my neighbor (she ate it right in front of me and said her mom used to put it in salads). The weeds and unwanted grass were easily twice as difficult to handle compared to last year.
