My Mandevilla still has 4 or 5 blooms, and never looses all of its leaves, but it is so root bound that it needs water at least every other day. Time to root prune again, and add some fresh soil, but that can wait till spring. It's one of the few plants that can cope with hanging from the awning on my porch, and has been there for years, but they are always available, and reasonable, so I don't worry about it. I'm thinking about getting several more of them. Nothing else can take the heat in summer, and it's happy with the amount of sun it gets. My porch faces north, but the Mandevilla is at the west end, so gets the afternoon full sun. It's one of the "Sun Parasol" series that used to be Diplidania. I wish they would develop some new colors! The only other thing I've had last up there is Bacoppa, but it shades everything else on the porch and reseeds everywhere!
