Hey Kathy(Jordon) good to see you drop in. Kim glad you mentioned the hot compote. I don't like figs either but just may try a pepper jelly out of them to go over cream cheese. I don't know what kind mine are but they are still green. That is those that are still on the tree. Many of them just dropped off. I think it was just too hot and dry for them. . Actually I think this may be a second crop on the tree. Our spring went straight to the hundreds and no rain. I think the first crop fell off the tree. I don't really pay much attention to it since I don't like them. It is in the middle of one of my flower beds though so I have seen the figs on it. We have had over 35 above 100 degrees. I can't remember that ever happening before. Like the rest of you we have been setting records for daily highs all through July and Aug. It is 83 degrees out right now and it feels cool. Go figure. We finally got a rain yesterday. Yay.
