Even if they're in the database, who's going to add pictures? Sue and I decided, way back in Cubits, that we weren't going to have a rose database with thousands and thousands of empty entries. We've concentrated on roses that might conceivably be owned by our members someday.
Dave started us off with a list of about 4,000 roses, but I subsequently deleted close to a thousand of those because they were no longer available in commerce or on display in any public gardens. Since then, I've been adding the new roses offered by major nurseries every year, and I've added some that are important in rose breeding as parent plants, but we still have a lot of entries without photos. Sue and I used to dream that we'd eventually find a page in the database with photos for every rose on that page. We haven't been able to yell "Bingo" yet.
