Charleen, my apologies. I knew someone had asked about leaving the spheres out in the winter but forgot where it was!
Mine has only endured one winter but from everything I've read it should last a long time. The one precaution I intend to take every year is to drain all the water before freezing temperatures arrive. Then I tip it forward so water/snow/ice won't collect it in over the winter.
