Oh my goodness, I'm loving it!
Becky: Your nest is very chic ... so pretty! I thought about trying to find some fabric that I could cut or tear into strips for weaving through my nest but figured it would take too long and knowing me I'd never get it done.
Vic: Great job, your embellishments enhanced it and made it your own .... and a wonderful choice of those "rock eggs", they sure look authentic!
Tee: Wonderful job ... that is so creative! I love that you incorporated the shells, especially the one used for the nest which is really pretty! The little sign just makes me smile!
The inspiration for my nest was a Carolina Wren nest that I cleared from one of the backyard birdhouses in April after the babies fledged. Wrens use twigs, sticks, bits of plastic, fabric, feathers and even snake skin to construct their nests. I was trying to figure out what I could use for my nest and had recently mounted a few orchids on wood, so I grabbed a handful of coco fiber, formed it into a nest shape and added a few twigs, scraps of plastic etc. and glued in a few marbles for the eggs.
