@daylilydreams, my DW has never stopped me from buying a daylily, and she has a few of her own. Flowers are not her thing really, but she does enjoy a well manicured lawn and garden areas. Her words to me when we moved into our new home "I want a park in the back yard to walk in". You should have seen the light in my eyes when she said that. However, you should have seen the look on her face when I ask her for the checkbook.
I am sure I'll be adding a few more before summer, but for now I have to start removing more sod...
