I was very fortunate to live close enough to Siloam Springs that I could drive over of a morning, enjoy the daylilies, and drive back at sunset. Unfortunately, at that time Ms. Henry's garden was a magnet for hybridizers and I usually got Mr. Henry as my guide and bless his soul he tried but he didn't know the crosses and the history. I could always see whichever bigwig was there that day being chaperoned through the garden by a little old lady in a giant sunbonnet but my only contact with her was usually figuring how much I owed and handing her a check. Darrell Apps was there the last time we went and I really wanted to corner her for a minute to ask about SILOAM RALPH HENRY but the only Ralph Henry I got to know was the real one.

I’d rather have questions that can’t be answered than answers that can’t be questioned.
