Larry I keep records in a spiral notebook. Due to this, I don't count budcount, height or branching until I get ready to cut a spent scape. It's really easy to jot down the items all at once. As for measuring height, the measurement goes from the ground to the base of the flower where it attaches to the branch. That's how I can determine the height when the scape is spent.
