I realized last year, that 90% of my daylilies were red. So I have been trying to broaden my palette a bit this year.

Some of my favorite reds are:

Chicago Apache. My first year with it, and it is awesome. I would recommend it to anyone

Charles Johnson - I just loved this one, It got overtaken by my old cottage dip, so I transplanted it to the front a few weeks ago. It didn't always open as a bagel. The photo doesn't do it justice, it was truly a rich red.

VT Maroon Branch. The color is kind of washed out. But it is a late bloomer and still has buds that are blooming. It is bud building this year, and I can't complain about the plant habit.

I have a lot of other reds, including Flame of Freedom, Green Throated Robin, Ruby Throat, Holly Dancer, etc, etc, etc, but these are some of my (many) favorites. ~Jan
