Ok, from pg. 7 of the Sept. blooms...
Calif_Sue said:OK everyone, I need some input. Dave is working hard to get the details for this new ATP database.

As I stated in the Database planning forum that Juli and I are on, initially, as I understood it, Juli did not want a database that was a repeat of the AHS registration database but now I am thinking ahead of the search features, I hope Juli agrees with me, but I do believe that if we want this database to be truly useful, we need to add a few more daylily specific options. Things like scape height, bloom size, and daylily bloom season is always registered as Early, Mid-season and Late, with combinations of those like EM, MLa. A drop down check-off for these options would be great. On DG, the bloom size was always small, medium and large and actually having the option to check off the actual registered size would be good for folks searching for specific sizes, same thing with scape heights.
So plants like roses and daylilies will have plant specific options included so that if someone wants to do a search for something, say for instance, a dormant daylily, late season blooming with a red flower and a 28" scape, you can type that in. To make sure we have a database that rocks, Dave now asks:
"So, exactly what kinds of data do we want for daylilies?"
Any additional ideas beyond scape, bloom size, foliage type, bloom season? We are trying to make this easy so that anyone can add a new entry so the more drop-down menu check-of options, the better.
