Welcome!
I think your course sand and pine bark is probably a great mix for your semps. A little pearlite will loosen it up even more. That way you will not have rot when it rains every day
They seem to be recovering from their long journey just fine. The garden soil, as you found out will cause some rot. None of us use Peat in semp. mix...ever. It holds way too much water. Instant rot.
I have grown a couple of ice plants (Delosperma ) straight from South Africa.
They didn't do much for the first month but then were fine.
I am very interested to hear how this works for you.
Keep us posted.

thank you!
I dont know why I dont get notifications about posts. Need to check the settings.
So far my semps are doing fine. I ordered some more from Germany and they arrives few days ago. One was totally dry, and two started flowering in the box he he he. so I guess they will die. I found another semp trying to flower so I chopped off the top in the hope that I will get some pups.
My old semp is gone crazy after I repotted it. I have never seen a semt so big and definitely not this one. I had it for 5 years and it was always tiny, now is like 16cm diameter. I guess the shade from a tree helps since they were always in full sun.
I ordered some huge semps from Face book also from USA but they are not here yet.
the picture is the 30 semps from Germany.
