I have had these in my yard for a few years. They are a *very* deep purple or red depending on feeding and can look black in full sun. They get very tall and definitely require some sort of staking. The flowers can get heavy and in heavy wind or rain will topple or break. They do look amazing and everyone comments on how beautiful they are!
