Thank You Zuzu for notifying us all of this site! And thank you Amanda for your recent post regarding a sale there!
All but one of the eight roses I bought at Antique Rose Emporium failed before fully leafing out this year. Reminded me of the experience last time; but I thought that was my fault. I mention this because ARFR has a catalogue that covers a good portion of the roses found at ARE. And the ARFR catalogue holds more appeal to me. The reason I buy two gallon plants is because I know that one gallon plants always beat out bands from the same supplier. But because my recent success has been pretty low I suspect that ARE is not doing something that other suppliers of potted roses are doing. And maybe the idea of stripping roses of their leaves is a truly boneheaded idea. I had much more success with ARE roses before they initiated the practice.
I've had success with Heirloom's gallons this season (though I did lose a rose from failing to drill holes in a new pot.) I've had a remarkable level of success with RVR's bands this season
So... I need to give ARFR a try.

edited to say ".. gallon plants beat out bands from the same supplier.." because what was there was untrue and made no sense.
