Hi! Welcome! May the remainder of this week be spectacular!

Here is the dog food recipe Ginny!

Homemade Dog Food
Ingredients:
9 cups of water
3 1/3 cups medium grain white rice
19.2 ounces of ground turkey-- if you use 0% fat you will have to add olive or coconut oil. I use low fat 93% percent or better turkey higher fat content would be bad for dogs.
2 zucchini chopped if you add 12 ounces of frozen peas, otherwise use
4 zucchini chopped and no peas.
2 cans of pumpkin 15 oz.
4 large eggs beaten
This pretty much fills a 6 quart pot to the brim. I like 6 quart pot because I know it was made correctly. My daughter prefers a bigger pot because she does not like to be careful when stirring.
Cooling is important I put it in an ice bath then spoon into two
Glad rectangular food savers. Each one is 10 cups and gets filled completely. This lasts up to a week in the refrigerator. The next day after making it, (we keep out a week's worth.) Then we fill snack bags full and stick those in a freezer bag to freeze. If all dogs are here there is nothing to freeze.

How to cook: spray stock pot 6 quarts or larger with Pam. Put 9 cups of water in, put 3 1/3 cups rice, turkey raw break apart, chopped zucchini. Medium heat stirring occasionally, I let it do a mild boil no lid, after 5 minutes add peas, it is still watery. Once you add the pumpkin you will have to be careful about it burning on the bottom. I stir with a hamburger/ pancake turner. The flat end makes more contact on the bottom of a pot than a rounded spoon.
Once it starts to look like the rice is almost cooked and there is still liquid, add 2 cans of pumpkin. Once the rice is done, I pour the 4 eggs which I have lightly beaten over the top and fold in. Cook another 2 minutes stirring.Turn off.

Hopefully this makes sense. You can also add potato, sweet potato or carrots if you like or have.
Just stay away from beans and legumes and.....
NO ONION ever! Onion is very bad and toxic for dogs it causes their red blood cells to burst.

May you be blessed with success and may God Bless all our Pets!
