Well, I just cut the whole clump down to the ground. It cleaned up the area nicely, although it left a fairly big hole in the bed. Fortunately I do have a gazing ball on a stand where the spiderwort was so it isn't totally bereft looking. I'll see how that works this year.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
