Right! And you're there @Bonehead. My son is in Seattle and last night he reported ash in the air making it difficult for some people to breathe. He also said everything smells smoky. He's staying inside as much as possible.

Hopefully, autumn will bring relief to all.

Meanwhile, any ideas about how to protect your plants, especially veggies that aren't ready to be harvested, when something like this happens? How do you clean the ash off them once it's over, which hopefully, it will be soon? Does the taste of fire remain?
