Karen I love your gardens. I have noticed over the last three years that coleus do not like temps below 40. If they are under protection of trees they last a little longer, leading me to believe it is the frost that gets them first. I have decided when they start getting leggy to pull them out and have some new ones coming along for the last six weeks, while it is still too warm to start the fall plants here. If you know it is going to be a frost you can throw a cover over them and extend time. But sooner are later they are out of here so I just go with the flow and change over to snap dragons, pansies, and Petunias Kale and Dusty miller. I like to have all done by Thanksgiving.
