Believe it or not, it's an apartment. There are 4 in this bldg. Here's the front of the place. I'm on the bottom right of the arched entry. They're stacked on top of each other and are all the same floor plan. Each apt. is just shy of 1500 sq. ft. 2 BR's with ONE miniscule bathroom...but for me that's fine. They have laundry rooms too, with washer/dryer hook ups in each.
They have hardwood floors, but the floors are a disaster after all these years. They're all carpeted except for one unit. One of the tenants re-did all his floors BY HAND with a tiny electric palm sander. NO insulation in this place at all. We freeze in the winter and roast in the summer. Really cool old tile ihe bathrooms and kitchens and those really DEEP bathtubs. Built in dressers in the bedroom closets, a breakfast nook off the kitchens with a cool built in arched glass front "hutch". It never even had HEAT until the 40's !
They say this was what was considered "luxury living" back in the day. There are lots of old bldgs. like this here. LOTS of them. Like anywhere else, some have gone to the dogs, others are in mint condition. You don't even want to know what's next door to me. (It aint pretty.)
