Frenchy @Frenchy21 I am only a beginner. I learned a very long time ago but never got really good. My mom was a great needlecrafter. I hope some of her talent rubbed off on me. The first two beanies were not good. I sent them in They told me my stitches were too tight to make wigs. But they will be used for other things. I am much better now. It takes practice. I have made 10 beanies and just now feeling good about my stuff. Go to the website https://themagicyarnproject.co... to see what they make from the beanies. The pattern is on there and very simple. If I can figure it out you can too...with a lot of help from YouTube. Hahahaha

The founder of the Magic Yarn Project is a nurse who used to practice at MD Anderson. Now she works in Alaska. People send her yarn, beanies and wigs. She holds workshops for people to learn how to make the wigs. My neighbor and I started this together. They don't have anyone delivering in Houston. One day, maybe we will get good enough to make the wigs. They are special ordered with a child's request for a specific Princess or Super Hero. We are at MD Anderson often curing Dh's cancer. I can help make and deliver some day. But first, to master the beanie!!

There is a project out there by the American Heart Association called Little Hats Big Hearts to make tiny red beanies for babies born in Feb. for American Heart Month. I might take a break and do some of those. This is a perfect project for waiting rooms. Usually there is so much going on I can't concentrate enough to read. And it goes for a good cause.
