When Hank built this house, he wanted to route all water except for sewage from toilets to a cistern type thingy but building inspection said no - made us send it all to the leech beds/septic tank.
A few years ago, a pretty famous person in your state Dave, built a home doing just that, saving all grey water to water stuff with and I thought it was so cool that Texas was progressive in their thinking.
Before we dug our pond for watering, we had a 55 gallon drum at every down spout. We would probably still do that until I found a copper head all coiled up in the water
That was it - I was done!
