Yeah, hypoallergenic doesn't include gluten free because Celiac Disease is an autoimmune disease vs. an allergy. The body attacks the healthy cells, for me, both in the gut and the skin.
There are people allergic to wheat, but there's a huge difference. Aveeno has oats in it, but they are fantastic products! I used them before my diagnosis, and I found them wonderful for my hands, but now a days, I would just have to be careful to touch my face before it absorbs into the skin of my hands.
It does take regular use of topical products and constant ingestion of gluten before the lesions show up, though. It's not instantaneous, but the lesions are very itchy and irritating, so I just have to err on the side of caution and stay away from gluten all together.
Of course, I have to fall in the low percentage of, what would be considered, the allergen world of skin and hair care products, right?!
