I love listening to people "ramble" about their flowers. You just keep on rambling, JB, because I'm picturing your beautiful daffodils and iris as I read your post. Sounds so lovely.
I try to get 50 new named daffs and 100 new iris each year, and if I can keep doing that until I'm 80, maybe I'll have a place like yours! Assuming we can hang on to this place that long...
Do you have any iris pallida? They smell like grape soda...and they spread fast. Even with their plain appearance, they are my favorite for cutting, just for the scent. I send whole plants home with neighborhood children, and now they're all over the last 4 neighborhoods I've lived in.
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
